Team awkward suits me. I had a five finger forehead before it was something people said was cool. I proudly wore the shirt my mom had made. I was a freshman in high school. I chose not to wash my hair before picture day. Rookie move. And what I see here in me is one of the most resilient women I know. Come to that these are all some of the most resilient women I know, including my mom and M, who wasn’t in school yet.
